The big move

August1

So we have finally been moved to the new hospital. It was a crazy day for the staff, getting us and all our stuff to the new city of Zhongfang. Some of us moved in a bus:

The new hospital is finished, for all intensive purposes. Well, actually the main floor up to the 3rd floor are pretty much functional, but the next 3 floors are still under construction. As of today we have a functioning kitchen, with gleaming new appliances and cupboards, about a 100 times better than the last kitchen! Ugh!
Our room is very bright and spacious, and we have been given a full suite for the price of a room. Dr. Ming, the VP, wants to impress us, his first patients, so that we have rave reviews of this new hospital. He treated us to a great dinner, cooked by his mom, on the first evening, he is on the far right side of the photo:

Here are a few views of our room and the girls’ room, I’m sure you can guess which is which:

There is even a proper massage-type table for my treatments:

And here is the view from our doorway and my own private (or I like to think so) tai chi area:

    Hi guys!
Always fun to follow the Hunt’s adventures!!!
Not to be weird, but I dreamt about you last night. I don’t think that Simon was there, but Pauline and the girls certainly were, and the girls were grown up… I wish I remembered more… It was a happy dream with lots of smiles.

I run by your place once in a while, I have yet to meet the tenants.

Played the flute on a couple of tunes in a jam in New Denver the other night: All Blues from Miles and Impressions from Coltrane. Even had two drum kits being played by some decent drummers, but not quite like Simon, that’s for sure.

What you wrote on the Exodus chapter was very powerful and touching. Maybe that’s why you are in my dreams…

Love to see photos of the girls in their different outfits, keep those coming… Are the girls (or you both) speaking a bit of Chinese yet, or is it Mandarin?

Riding to New Denver tomorrow, hiking Alps Alturas in the week-end up Wilson Creek. Slocan Lake is a powerful place as well…

    Love,
    Sylvain

I am learning Mandarin Chinese by computer software. No where near to speaking it though, I have a lot of nouns floating around in my head with no sentence structure to put it all together yet. We get by with a few key phrases. We also have translators available for almost everything. The girls are not getting a chance to hear Chinese except for tv cartoons, so they are not learning it at all unfortunately.

Your place looks great! that sink looks gorgeous and a great deck. the beds look HUGE. how are your treatments going? how are you feeling? are you getting used to the treatments or would that not be possible? thinking of you guys, lots of love from Nelson xox

The bed is just two twins put together. My treatment is going well, still seeing strength improvements. I’m feeling great, except maybe not so much in the sweltering heat, we have a/c though. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get ‘used’ to the treatments, as soon as I get comfortable with something, they change it up! Missing you too Lis, wishing I was coming to Kokanee with the ladies this year!
