What wat?

We went to visit a nearby wat, or Buddhist temple. It also had an impressively huge buddha statue.
Afterwards we went to some gardens and this is the tribute to the king’s palace.

What Wat? – Wat Phratat Doikham
“The mountain has its own legends and stories. Some maintain that Buddha preached the Dharma to the ethnic inhabitants hundreds of years ago. History records that some of King Mangrai’s troops were stationed in the foothills before the battle to defend the new City of Chiang Mai, 1296 A.D.”
Not so many foreign tourists visit it, because it is off the regular tourist route, it seems to be important for the Thai, historically.
