Tomato-zilla

November 09, 2014

I was very fortunate to have a nice raised garden bed built for me this spring. We filled it with fresh dirt and a large amount of composted kitchen waste. Well… I have never seen a tomato plant go this crazy! And this is a cherry tomato plant, I thought they were smaller. Not so in this case. It got so big I had to support some of the branches with sawhorses. To be truthful this is 2 plants, but still…
So I named it Tomato-zilla, for its sheer size and how it choked out almost everything else in the garden. It did provide us with hundreds of juicy yellow flavour explosions, so thank you tomato-zilla! Next year I’m going to do some pruning…

Part 2

Here it is, the eve of November 9, and our plant is still churning out these lovely tomatoes. First frost tonight, so late this year! That will be all for the season for this crazy plant.
