PB Season

To most people, PB stands for peanut butter. Not so in our household, it’s Prescribed Burn. It’s the time of year when the hot days, teamed with cold nights and possible showers make for ideal conditions for lighting forest fires. This is not your delinquent-youth kind of fire setting, these plans have literally taken years to establish and the burning is conducted only when all the variables have been accounted for. Parks Canada has realised that fire is part of our natural landscape and beneficial to both plants and animals. Simon was recently called to both Banff and Kootenay National Parks to help with the burning process. Here’s a few shots of his work:
